Level Two Riding Instructor Certification

Level One: Requirements for the Level One Teaching Certification:

  • Completion of Teaching I, II & III with a minimum 3.0 GPA and no more than 7 absences in any one quarter in Teaching
  • Completion of the Riding Master III program or the equivalent level of equine studies
  • 75 hours of logged teaching time, at least 20 hours in each discipline; these hours will be completed on campus during the regular course of study and will be documented in the studentís teaching log book
  • Completion of the Level I Training Certification
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Development of a professional portfolio
  • Satisfactory completion of a written and practical examination
Upon completion of these requirements, the student will receive Level One Teaching Certification.

Level Two: Requirements for the Level Two Teaching Certification:

  • Meet all requirements for the Level One Teaching Certification
  • Completion of Teaching IV & V with a minimum 3.0 GPA and no more than 7 absences in any one quarter in Teaching
  • 250 hours of logged teaching time, at least 20 hours in each discipline; these hours will be completed on campus during the regular course of study and will be documented in the studentís teaching log book
  • Satisfactory completion of a written and practical examination
Upon completion of these requirements, the student will receive Level Two Teaching Certification.

I have a lot of very valuable knowledge that I can use to help people. The average 21-year-old doesnít have a system, doesnít have a solid background. Other than the saddle time you spend at Meredith Manor, having that system is probably the most valuable thing you learn. You can always go back to it.
